The Redlands Quilt Extravaganza has been running since 2003 as part of the Redlands Spring Festival. All forms of creative sewing are promoted and displayed at the Extravaganza with the main focus being Quilting, Patchwork, Embroidery and Creative Textiles. The Redlands Quilt Extravaganza was incorporated in December 2009 and is run by a team of dedicated volunteers with help from the Founders of the original exhibition – Bayside Stitchcraft held at Cleveland. The Committee Members are multi-skilled and include Graphic Designers, Craft and Business Marketing Professionals.
As a stand-alone event, Redlands Quilt Extravaganza is held biennially at the Redlands Performing Arts Centre. In its first year as an incorporated entity in 2009, it attracted over 2000 visitors, which has been repeated at subsequent shows. 150 quilts and more than 100 other creative sewing entries of all types were entered for judging. Articles come from seasoned crafters as well as students from all local Junior and High Schools.
Redlands Quilt Extravaganza Inc. showcases activities from the Redlands Community and promotes and assists the Quilting, Embroidery and Sewing groups to showcase their Textile Crafts. These groups are outlets for people with like talents to share time, skills and help encourage their group to their next skill level. Friendships develop and that attracts others to the crafts that we are trying to promote and grow.
Redlands Quilt Extravaganza Inc. looks forward to welcoming you at the next Event.
